There’s an “industry secret” within the supplement space that supplement brands use to trick regular consumers and make ridiculous profits, and once you know about it… you’ll never viewed supplements the same.

Proprietary blends allow companies to pack their formulas with cheap, base ingredients along with a tiny amount of the “good” ingredients (usually the one you want), and still package, advertise, and make claims as if it were a premium product and sell it at a premium price point as well. As long as they list the total weight of the Proprietary Blend on their supplement facts panel, the FDA is a-okay with it, but you as the consumer have no idea how much of that blend is actually the ingredient(s) you want. 

So many big supplement brands out there are using this trick and making crazy profits, and you pay the price for it AND are getting cheap, placebo supplements that don’t even do anything. That is why:
